Born in Mestre June 27th 1943. End of Liceo Classico in 1961, Architecture degree on October 30th 1968 at I.U.A.V., with bachelor thesis: “Residential Hypothesis on the Lagoon of Venice”, supervisor Prof. arch. Ignazio Gardella, commetee arch. Umberto Bini and arch. Nani Valle. State examination in November 1968 and since then he’s enrolled to the Board of the Architects of Venice n° 422 from 1969. In the same year he opened his office in Mestre, beginning the professional activity operating in the field of the project design, planning and the city design. He then opens the officies of Udine and later one of Trieste. From 1990 the study of Mestre develops the activity in collaboration with the Workshop office for the project editing. In 1989 it receives the prizes In\Arch for the Rivignano Town Hall and the Hospital of Gemona. In 1991 the International Association for the Steel Constructions conferred to Giovanni Caprioglio, with Ing. Antonio Gandolfi, the AICA for the Aeronavali Hangar at Venice Airport. In 1994 received, with Arch. Dario Vatta, a special mention for the Cinema Palazzo (Movie Theater) from the Marble Architecture Award of Carrara. He founded in 1999 the Caprioglio Associati Firm. He’s most important works have been published on national and international magazines; Giovanni Caprioglio lectured about his works at University of Venice I.U.A.V. and has been invited to the University of Miami, Providence University and Milwaukee University to hold seminaries on his own architectures.
